Cathy Simon

Cathy Simon, AIA, leads the Civic, Corporate + Commercial practice for Perkins+Will’s San Francisco office as their Design Principal. She has worked on projects from the reinvention of historic structures to large-scale urban design projects, including award-winning work across the Bay Area, the U.S. and around the world.

  • A founding partner of SMWM, an award-winning women-owned, national architecture, planning and urban design firm that merged with Perkins+Will in 2008
  • Dramatic work refashioning multiple piers and new neighborhoods including Mission Bay and Treasure Island, and crafting Mission Rock, the new mixed-use district at Seawall Lot 337
  • Travelling speaker and teacher on issues of urbanization, revitalization, place-making, preservation and reuse, and the ways and means of creating these vibrant places that nurture the growth of community
  • Graduate of Wellesley College and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design
