
David Perry
David C. Perry is Associate Chancellor of Great Cities Institute and Professor of Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is committed to building community-university partnerships that apply basic research to the great cities of the world, starting with Chicago.
- Is a member of the Mayor’s Zoning Reform Commission, the Urban Land Institute’s Chicago Public Policy Committee and the Global Chicago Committee of the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations in addition to co-chaired the City of Chicago’s Housing Forum on Information Infrastructure
- Authored eight books and over 150 articles, book chapters and reports on urban policy, political economy and public infrastructure, and is an equally experienced policy practitioner having served on numerous public boards, commissions and research advisory panels
- Served as interim dean of the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs in 2000 and was a professor of planning at the School of Planning and Architecture at the State University of New York at Buffalo and senior faculty fellow at the Rockefeller Institute in New York from 1982-98
- Received his PhD from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University
