
Norman B. Rice
Norman B. Rice is the Chief Executive Officer and President at Seattle Foundation and served two terms at the Mayor of the City of Seattle from 1990-1997.
- Served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle from 1997 to 2005
- Joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle in March 1998 as its Executive Vice President
- As mayor, Rice earned national acclaim for revitalizing Seattle’s downtown and strengthening the city’s neighborhoods through public-private partnerships
- Championed an improved public school system, civic buildings and implemented a model welfare-to-work program
- Served as President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors
- Holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications, a Master of Arts in public administration from the University of Washington, and honorary doctorates from Seattle University, University of Puget Sound and Whitman College
